Chapel services are held on the main floor of the Cougar Center. These services provide an opportunity for the total development of the student spiritually, intellectually, musically, and artistically through religious drama, art, etc. Chapel services are scheduled regularly on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. with students, faculty, staff, and visitors leading the worship services. An additional chapel time set aside for students exclusively, is scheduled each Thursday at 9:30 p.m. Faculty, staff, and students who are on campus at the scheduled chapel times are encouraged to attend.
Mission Emphasis Week
Mission Emphasis Week is a fall event. Students, faculty, and staff are reminded of the worldwide commission of our Lord to share the gospel and make disciples. Through chapel, classes, and special events everyone associated with the ministry of Mid-Continent University is encouraged to become more knowledgeable of the on-going mission task, to pray for specific mission needs, and to consider personal involvement in opportunities locally, nationally, and abroad.
Spiritual Emphasis Week/Student Development Impact Week
During each spring term, a special week is set aside totally for the benefit of the MCU student body. Guest speakers and activities are generated to impact the spiritual growth and development in our students. Themes and activities are chosen with students ideas, interests and concerns in mind.
Ministerial Student Association
The purpose of the Ministerial Association is to provide fellowship, mutual support, and enhancement of skills for those who are planning a career in ministry. The MSA, in cooperation with our faculty advisor, Baptist College of the Bible faculty members, Mid-Continent University administrators, and area associational Director of Missions, will seek opportunities to apply their ministries in local church settings. The MSA consists of students enrolled in any academic program at Mid-Continent University, who are currently serving or anticipating serving Christ via ministry leadership, i.e., pastors, Christian education workers, youth and children’s directors, music ministers, missions, and evangelism. The MSA will meet monthly during the academic year.
